Houses
House Competitions and Rules:-
To prepare the students to face the stiff competition at the world level, they have been divided into four houses. Students are divided into houses in order to imbibe the spirit of healthy competition. A number of inter-house competitions provide students an opportunity to discover their talents. There are four houses (SHAN of our school):-
(a) Shivalik - Red House
(b) Himalaya - Yellow House
(c) Aravali - Green House
(d) Nilgiri - Blue House
Co-Curricular Activities
Extra -curricular activities provide a diversion from the activities of daily routine and are essential for all round development of students. All the students are given adequate opportunity to take part in various co-curricular activities like debates/elocution Contest, Essay writing, painting competition, dramatics, Quiz contests, science Projects and various musical programmes. Certain Art and Craft activities like Card Making, Diya Making, Rakhi Making, Rangoli, Drawing, Painting, Candle Making, Cooking, Sewing, Best out of waste Competitions are on the working schedule of the school. The classes in music and dances are also undertaken. The students are also given lessons in Personality development. For little ones, musical rhymes, poems, fancy dress, frog race, solo or group dance, clay modelling, religious and patriotic action songs, identification of colours or things etc have been enlisted.
The House for each student will remain the same for the time he/she studies at SSPS.
• The old students will be assigned Houses by the computer according to their Registration No. & Class, and these students will be in the same Houses for their entire length of stay at SSPS.
• For every new student, the House will be assigned automatically by the computerized software based on their Registration No. and Class.
• There will be no choice or freedom of shuffling the House by the student. Once assigned – assigned forever.
The Inter House Competitions in General Knowledge, Quiz, Declamation, Debate, Group Discussion, Sports, Painting, Drawing, Music, Dramatics are scheduled in the Annual Curriculum. School HEAD BOY and School HEAD GIRL, along with a Deputy Head Boy and a Deputy Head Girl is selected from the best of the students on competition basis. The students belonging to different houses put on T-shirts of different colours during the House Competitions.
